Signs and Stationery
Business Cards
The first thing you need once you have decided to start your business and have picked a name for it is business cards. They can be simple and printed on your home computer onto card stock or you can order glossy 4-color cards with pictures of your units on them. What is important is that you have some and have a lot of them.
Include your business name, phone number, e-mail address, and website if you have one. A logo is a nice touch but not critical. If you are going for a Pricing strategy, print a discount coupon on the back. People who are interested will keep it around!
Business Card Strategies
- Leave a few on the tables when you visit McDonald's or Chuck E Cheese or other family restauruants.
- Pin them on bulletin boards at grocery stores, laundromats, and gyms.
- Place a stack of them in the business card holder that comes with your jumping castle.
- Ask the birthday parent if they would mind putting one in each child's goody bag to take home.
- Give them to everyone you meet.
Jumping Castle Banner
Almost all units come with a customized banner on the front. Make sure yours includes your business name and phone number. If you plan to have a website, go ahead and reserve your domain name (www.whatever.com) and have it printed on the banner as well. This may help a potential customer remember your company and look you up when they are ready to rent.
Car Signs
Make your car pay back some of the money you have put into it! Buy magnetic signs for your vehicle(s) that include your company name, logo, phone #, and website.
If you are really serious about building your business, you can have your car professionally screenprinted to make a real impact.
Yard Signs
Consider having yard signs made up in eye-catching colors with your company information.
Yard Sign Strategies
- Place one or two around the bounce during a rental for extra visibility.
- See if friends will allow you to place one in their yard for a week.
- Check local sign ordinances- you may be able to place the signs near intersections or other areas where they can be seen. Often, wherever a bunch of political candidates have been able to place yard signs, you will be able to place your sign as well. Always ask permission first.
Banners
Look for unused areas that are visible while you are driving. Often, there are commercial buildings with no windows on the side that faces a busy road or intersection. Call the management agency for the building and find out if they would allow you to place an advertising banner on the unused side of the building and how much they would charge. It never hurts to ask!
Banners can also be printed up and loaned or donated to schools or churches for upcoming festivals. Put your logo and business name and number on one end and leave a section open. The church or school can then have their festival information printed on the other end. Every year, they will remember to call you for rentals and hang out your advertisement!
Goody Bags
It is relatively inexpensive to have small paper merchandise bags printed with your name and logo. You can then offer these to party parents for their goody bags to send home with the children. Print a coupon on them to convince other parents to have a moonbounce party!
