Door-to-Door and Phone Calls- Moonwalk Business Marketing
Target Churches, Schools, and Daycares
If you have more time than money, then you need to take your show on the road.
Print your flyers, get your business cards together, pick your marketing strategy, and start calling and visiting local schools, daycares, and churches to tell them what you offer. For childcare centers, you may want to start with the local office if they have several locations.
You can purchase inexpensive acrylic business card holders or flyer holders at your local office superstore. Print a small label with your business information on it to place on the holder or just securely tape a business card to it. Ask daycares if it would be OK if you left them a small display; some will say yes. When their holder is out of literature, they will still have your number for referrals or to request more flyers/business cards.
Offer them something in return (see flyers) and you should have good results. The personal touch makes a difference when an organization goes to set up an event. If they remember you and still have your business cards or flyers around, you've made it easy to rent a moonwalk from you. It is also good when busy moms ask the childcare workers for ideas for birthday parties.
If they can pull up your website for up to date information, it's even easier!
Make sure you are not dropping by or calling during heavy drop-off or pickup times or lunch. You are most likley to have best results Tuesday-Thursday between 9:30 and 11:00 or from 1:30-2:30 at daycares or schools. Church offices don't keep the same schedule.
It is a nice touch to call ahead and make an appointment if you plan to visit but sometimes you can get farther by just showing up. This technique is not for the timid. Be assertive but polite and friendly. If they are not interested, the best thing you can do is offer to leave behind some brochures or flyers in case they need a rental later and go. Do not aggravate your target audience!
